SpaceX's Grok Bot Could Generate $17 Billion in Annual Revenue, Evercore Says

Summary
According to analysts at Evercore, SpaceX's Grok Bot is an undervalued AI agent with a potential path to $17 billion in annual revenue, driven by strong early adoption and a large addressable market among knowledge workers.
SpaceX's Grok Bot represents a significant, undervalued opportunity in the artificial intelligence agent market, with a potential path to $17 billion in annual revenue, according to a new analysis from Evercore. The firm's base case scenario positions the AI product as a major future revenue stream, tapping into a vast market of professional users.
Bullish Revenue Projections
Evercore's financial model outlines a substantial total addressable market (TAM) for Grok Bot, estimated at approximately $87 billion in its base case. This leads to the firm's projection of around $17 billion in annual attributable revenue.
The analysis includes a wide range of potential outcomes:
- Bear Case: $2 billion in annual revenue from a $14 billion TAM.
- Bull Case: $75 billion in annual revenue from a $354 billion TAM.
Crucially, Evercore analysts see the largest opportunity not as a developer tool or simple consumer subscription, but as a product embedded in the recurring work of non-developer knowledge workers. This segment accounts for 84% of the firm's base-case revenue projections.
Strong Early Adoption
AdGrok Bot has demonstrated impressive early traction since its launch, which occurred nearly a month before Meta’s Muse and seven weeks before OpenAI’s Dots. Evercore highlighted that daily active users grew approximately 60 times to 533,000 within the first seven weeks.
Download velocity also accelerated significantly. Ten-day download cohorts grew from roughly 130,000 in the first 10 days to 782,000 in the 31-40 day period. By this later stage, Grok Bot's downloads were reportedly more than 18 times those of Claude, about 44% of Meta AI’s, and 30% of ChatGPT’s in comparable launch windows.
Market Context and Competition
According to the firm, Grok Bot is the only product in its comparison set to show growth in every successive ten-day period over its first 40 days. The product benefits from distribution through platforms like Cursor and SuperGrok and has shown early adoption outside of traditional engineering roles.
While the entry of competitors like Meta's Muse, OpenAI's Dots, Gemini Spark, and Instinct validates the AI agent category, it also raises execution requirements. Evercore noted that Grok Bot's commercial development is still in its early stages, with many larger enterprise customers appearing to be in trial periods.
