Sika Shares Surge After Upbeat H1 Results and Raised Sales Forecast

Summary
The Swiss specialty chemicals firm reported first-half sales that beat analyst estimates and lifted its full-year revenue guidance, driven by a return to positive organic growth in the second quarter.
Shares of Sika AG (SIX:SIKA) surged on Friday after the specialty chemicals company reported first-half results that surpassed analyst expectations and raised its full-year sales forecast, signaling a key turnaround in organic growth.
Sales Beat and Organic Growth Return
For the first half of 2026, the Baar-based company posted net sales of CHF 5.59 billion, exceeding the analyst consensus of approximately CHF 5.44 billion. The result was driven by a 4.0% increase in sales in local currencies, according to the company's release.
A critical factor for investors was the acceleration in second-quarter organic growth to 5.7%. This figure marks a significant positive inflection point, snapping a streak of negative organic performance that had been in place since the third quarter of 2025.
Key first-half figures include:
- Net Sales: CHF 5.59 billion
- Local-currency Sales Growth: 4.0% (2.9% organic, 1.1% from acquisitions)
- EBITDA Margin: 19.0%
- Material Margin: 55.7%, up from 55.1% in the prior-year period
AdUpgraded Outlook Reassures Investors
Buoyed by the strong performance, Sika lifted its full-year 2026 sales growth guidance to a range of 3% to 6% in local currencies, a notable increase from its previous target of 1% to 4%. The company also confirmed its confidence in meeting consensus expectations for absolute EBITDA in Swiss francs.
While the company modestly trimmed its full-year EBITDA margin guidance to a range of 19.0%–19.5% from 19.5%–20.0%, management's reassurance on the absolute profit figure appeared to satisfy investors, who focused on the robust top-line momentum.
Market Reaction
The positive results sent Sika's stock climbing nearly 6.0% to trade around CHF 170.85 in Zurich. The rally was driven by company-specific fundamentals, as the broader Swiss market and construction-materials peer Holcim provided no significant sector-wide tailwinds, according to market data.
