Saudi Tadawul All Share Ends Lower as Industrial, Petrochemical Sectors Weigh

Saudi Arabia's benchmark stock index ended Monday's session with a slight loss, as declines in key industrial and petrochemical stocks offset gains elsewhere in the market. The Tadawul All Share (TASI) index edged down 0.16% by the close of trading.
Sector Weakness Drives Decline
The modest downturn was primarily attributed to negative performance in the Industrial Investment, Petrochemicals, and Insurance sectors, according to data from Investing.com. Market sentiment was nearly balanced, with falling stocks narrowly outnumbering advancing ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by a margin of 158 to 153, while 20 stocks finished the session unchanged.
Top Movers
Despite the index's overall decline, several individual stocks saw significant movement:
Ad- Top Gainers: Al Etihad Cooperative Insurance Co (TADAWUL:8170) surged 10.00%, Arabian Company for Agricultural and Industrial Investment (TADAWUL:2287) rose 9.93%, and Tanmiah Food Company (TADAWUL:2281) added 8.42%.
- Top Losers: Canadian Medical Center Co (TADAWUL:4021) fell 4.51%, Saudi Industrial Export Co (TADAWUL:4140) declined 4.49%, and Rasan Information Technology (TADAWUL:8313) was down 3.57%.
Divergence From Commodity Markets
The dip in the Saudi equity market occurred despite a strong rally in global energy prices, a key driver for the Kingdom's economy. The divergence suggests that broader sector-specific concerns may have outweighed the positive sentiment from the oil market for investors on Monday.
In commodities trading, crude oil futures for August delivery were up 4.13% to $74.36 a barrel. Similarly, Brent oil for September delivery rose 4.24% to hit $79.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.05% to trade at $4,070.62 a troy ounce. The USD/SAR currency pair remained nearly flat at 3.75.
