S4 Capital Cuts 2026 Revenue Forecast as Q3 Decline Accelerates

S4 Capital (SFOR.L) has lowered its full-year 2026 revenue outlook after reporting an accelerating decline in its third-quarter performance, citing volatile macroeconomic conditions and cautious spending from clients. The company simultaneously raised its profitability forecast, signaling a focus on cost-cutting measures to protect its bottom line.
Deeper Q3 Decline
In a third-quarter trading update on Wednesday, S4 Capital revealed that its like-for-like net revenue fell by 7.3%, a significant worsening from the 4.4% drop seen in the second quarter and the 5% decline in the first quarter.
The downturn was broad-based across its segments. The company's largest division, Marketing Services, which constitutes about 90% of net revenue, saw a 6.2% like-for-like decrease. Its Technology Services unit experienced a much steeper contraction, with revenues falling 17.6% as hyperscaler clients continue to prioritize capital expenditures over operating expenses, according to the firm.
Revised Full-Year Outlook
As a result of the challenging conditions, S4 Capital revised its guidance for the full year. The company now anticipates a decline in like-for-like net revenue in the high-single digits, a downgrade from its previous forecast of a mid-single-digit drop.
AdDespite the revenue headwinds, the firm improved its profitability outlook through cost management. Key financial targets include:
- Operating EBITDA margin: Projected to increase by at least 160 basis points, up from prior guidance of at least 140 basis points.
- Operating EBITDA: Expected to remain at the current consensus level of approximately £85 million.
- Adjusted basic EPS: Forecast to exceed the current analyst consensus of 6.1 pence.
Balance Sheet and Client Behavior
S4 Capital stated that it expects year-end net debt to fall within a range of £50 million to £80 million, compared to £76 million at the end of the third quarter. The company also announced its goal to become net debt-free by next year.
Looking ahead, the firm anticipates clients will remain cautious in the near term, becoming more selective with geographic investments. It noted a client focus on implementing technologies like artificial intelligence and blockchain to drive operational efficiencies.
