RH Shares Soar After Q2 Profit Obliterates Analyst Estimates

Shares of RH (NYSE: RH) jumped nearly 8% in pre-market trading after the luxury home-furnishings company reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 results that significantly beat analyst forecasts. The company's performance was bolstered by stronger-than-expected revenue and encouraging early signs from a new product collection.
A Sweeping Earnings Beat
RH announced a dramatic outperformance on its bottom line, posting adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $2.70. This figure far exceeded the Wall Street consensus, which ranged from approximately $0.39 to $0.46 per share, according to Investing.com.
The company's financial results included several key highlights:
- Revenue: Totaled $922.2 million, surpassing the company's own guided range of 0.5% to 2.5% year-over-year growth.
- EBITDA Margin: Normalized adjusted EBITDA margin reached 13.4%, clearing the high end of its guidance.
- Tariff Refund: The quarter also included a $55.1 million benefit from a tariff refund.
Looking ahead, RH narrowed its full-year fiscal 2026 revenue outlook to a range of $3.63 billion to $3.68 billion.
Strategic Drivers and Outlook
AdOn the company's earnings call, CEO Gary Friedman highlighted the successful launch of the new RH Estates collection. He noted that demand has come "almost entirely" from new customers, signaling that the line is successfully expanding RH's addressable market rather than cannibalizing sales from existing product lines.
Management characterized its fourth-quarter guidance as conservative. They anticipate future benefits from reducing order backlogs, opening new gallery locations, and building momentum from the RH Estates launch.
Market Reaction and Context
The strong earnings report allowed RH shares to recoup a significant portion of a roughly 22% decline experienced over the month prior to the announcement. The positive report also came against a constructive market backdrop, with major indices showing gains.
Following the results, Telsey Advisory Group raised its price target on RH stock to $155 from $140, citing a higher earnings multiple on its revised 2027 EPS estimate. The firm maintained its Market Perform rating on the shares.
