Redwire Shares Rise on Plans to Expand Alabama Production Facility

Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW) shares rose 3% on Monday after the aerospace and defense manufacturer announced a major expansion of its campus in Huntsville, Alabama. The project is intended to significantly scale the company's production capacity for unmanned aircraft systems and critical space infrastructure.
Expansion Details
The company is adding 164,000 square feet to its operational footprint in Huntsville, increasing both its manufacturing and engineering capabilities. According to the announcement, construction has already begun and is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2027.
The expansion is supported by approximately $8.5 million in eligible state and local economic development incentives. Redwire anticipates the project will create approximately 150 new high-skilled jobs in engineering, manufacturing, integration, and technical operations.
AdStrategic Rationale
Redwire stated the expanded campus will accelerate production of its Stalker unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), Octopus gimbal payloads, advanced energy solutions, and other space technologies that support exploration, commerce, and national security.
"Expanding the footprint Redwire has established in Huntsville reflects the momentum we’re seeing across both Redwire Space and Defense Tech," commented Peter Cannito, Chairman and CEO of Redwire. He described Huntsville as an "ideal location to expand our capabilities and strengthen America’s industrial base" due to its position at the intersection of the nation's space and defense industries.
