Randstad Shares Surge as Q2 Revenue Beat Signals Hiring Rebound

Shares in Randstad (RAND.AS) surged on Tuesday after the world's largest staffing company reported second-quarter results that significantly surpassed analyst forecasts, signaling a tangible recovery in global hiring demand.
A Decisive Earnings Beat
Randstad announced that its organic revenue grew by 1.9% in the second quarter of 2026, a figure that nearly doubled the consensus analyst estimate of 1.0%. The result marks a meaningful acceleration from the 0.4% growth reported in the first quarter.
The company's adjusted EBIT (earnings before interest and taxes) also came in approximately 4% to 6% above market expectations, according to the pre-market release. Analysts at Jefferies noted that the accelerating revenue trend more than offset pressure on gross margins, creating room for consensus earnings estimates to move higher.
Geographic Recovery Drives Optimism
A key driver of the positive result was a striking turnaround in Germany, one of Randstad's most closely watched markets. Revenue in the region rose 4% year-over-year, reversing a 4% contraction in the prior quarter and a 7% decline a year earlier.
AdNorth America also returned to positive growth territory, further confirming that hiring demand is recovering across the company’s key geographies. Randstad's management added to investor confidence by stating that the positive momentum had extended into July.
Market Reaction
Investors reacted positively to the news, pushing Randstad shares up by more than 6% in Amsterdam trading to a session high of €34.38. The stock's strong performance stood out in a challenged European staffing sector and came against a backdrop of weaker broader market indices.
The combination of a decisive earnings beat, a sharp recovery in core markets, and constructive analyst commentary prompted investors to reassess the pace of the company's recovery from recent sector-wide headwinds.
