Peloton Shares Gain on Launch of New Foldable Treadmill and AI Features

Summary
Peloton Interactive's stock gained in premarket trading after the company unveiled three new treadmill models, including its first foldable design, and new AI-powered coaching capabilities.
Shares of Peloton Interactive Inc. (NASDAQ:PTON) rose in premarket trading Tuesday after the connected fitness company announced a new lineup of three treadmill models and enhanced AI-powered software features. The stock gained 2.6% following the news, which includes the introduction of the company's first-ever foldable treadmill.
New Treadmill Lineup
Peloton detailed three new products aimed at different segments of the market. The models and their U.S. pricing are:
- Peloton Tread Flex: A foldable model priced at $2,195, designed to reduce its storage footprint by nearly 50%.
- Peloton Tread Vision: A mid-range option at $3,495.
- Peloton Tread+ Vision: The premium model, priced at $6,695.
The Tread Vision and Tread+ Vision models incorporate movement-tracking cameras to provide users with post-run form analysis and personalized feedback through Peloton's AI platform, Peloton IQ.
AI Enhancements and Integrations
AdAlongside the new hardware, Peloton introduced several AI-driven software features for runners. These include "Run Analysis," which evaluates a user's cadence and stride length to generate a running efficiency score, and "IQ Pace Targets," which sets personalized speed ranges based on recent performance.
The company also expanded its ecosystem by announcing a new partnership with WHOOP, allowing workout data to sync between the platforms. This adds to existing integrations with Apple Health, Fitbit, and Garmin Connect.
Market Rollout and Context
The new products and features are scheduled to launch in the United States and Canada on October 1, 2026. According to the company's announcement, the Peloton Tread Vision will also be available in the United Kingdom, Germany, and Austria on the same date, followed by Australia on October 2. The foldable Tread Flex is slated for release in markets outside North America in the spring of 2027.
The introduction of a lower-priced, space-saving model like the Tread Flex may signal Peloton's strategy to broaden its customer base and compete more directly with other home fitness brands that offer foldable equipment. The focus on AI-driven feedback represents a push to deepen user engagement and differentiate its subscription-based service.
