OEM International Q2 Sales and Profit Hit Record Highs on Acquisitions

Swedish technology trading firm OEM International reported record-breaking second-quarter financial results, with both sales and operating profit reaching all-time highs. The performance was fueled by a combination of strong organic growth and significant contributions from recent acquisitions, surpassing analyst expectations.
Key Financials
According to the company's Q2 report, net sales climbed 17% year-over-year to SEK 1.56 billion (Swedish kronor), exceeding the consensus analyst estimate of SEK 1.52 billion. The sales increase was nearly evenly split between 8% organic growth and a 9% contribution from acquisitions.
Profitability saw a substantial boost, with earnings before interest, taxes, and amortization (EBITA) rising 37% to SEK 241 million. This pushed the EBITA margin up to 15.4% from 13.2% in the same period last year, an improvement the company attributed to a higher gross margin. Earnings per share for the quarter were reported at SEK 1.26.
AdStrong Order Growth Signals Momentum
A key indicator of future performance, incoming orders, outpaced revenue growth. The company reported a 23% increase in new orders, which totaled SEK 1.68 billion for the quarter. This robust order book suggests continued demand for the company's products.
Geographically, the largest contributors to the increase in orders were its markets in the Rest of Europe, Finland, The Baltic States, and China. For investors, an order growth rate that exceeds the sales growth rate is often viewed as a positive sign for revenue in subsequent quarters. The company did not, however, provide specific financial guidance for the remainder of the year in its press release.
