Nvidia Supplier Wistron Opens $700 Million Texas Plant for AI Superchip Production

Summary
Taiwan-based Wistron has launched a $700 million factory in Fort Worth, Texas, to manufacture Nvidia's advanced AI systems, including the GB300 Grace Blackwell Superchip, signaling a significant expansion of AI hardware production in the U.S.
Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Wistron, a key supplier for Nvidia, has launched a $700 million manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, to produce the chipmaker's latest artificial intelligence systems. The move reflects a broader trend of electronics firms expanding U.S. production to meet the surging demand for AI infrastructure.
Advanced AI System Production
The new factory is focused on producing some of Nvidia's most powerful and anticipated hardware. Wistron confirmed the facility will manufacture Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip, an AI system that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has called "the most powerful AI supercomputer in the world."
In a statement, Wistron noted that the Fort Worth site is where the first GB300 was built and mass-produced in the United States. The company also announced that the factory is slated to manufacture Nvidia’s next-generation Vera Rubin Superchip.
Scaling Up Capacity and Jobs
AdThe plant is set for a rapid expansion of its production capabilities. According to Nvidia, the facility is expected to scale up this year to manufacture tens of thousands of computing boards per month.
This investment is also creating a significant number of local jobs. Nvidia reported that the factory has already created more than 500 jobs and is on track to expand its workforce to 1,000 employees by the end of the year. For investors, this onshoring of critical AI component manufacturing strengthens the U.S. technology supply chain and demonstrates the tangible economic impact of the AI boom beyond software and chip design.
Part of a Larger US Investment
The new Wistron plant is a component of a much larger strategic initiative by the AI giant. Nvidia stated that the Fort Worth facility forms part of the $500 billion U.S. investment commitment it announced in 2025, underscoring its long-term plan to build out domestic AI production and development capabilities.
