NOWPayments Launches Zero-Fee Service for Mass Crypto Payouts

Cryptocurrency payment gateway NOWPayments has launched a new infrastructure designed to eliminate network and service fees for businesses conducting mass payouts, according to a company announcement. The system replaces traditional wallet-based transfers with instant, email-based transactions to reduce operational costs and complexity.
New Infrastructure Aims to Cut Costs
NOWPayments asserts that for years, businesses have accepted blockchain transaction fees as a necessary cost of sending crypto. The company's new service challenges this by using a recipient's email address as the destination, bypassing the need for direct wallet-to-wallet transfers on the blockchain for the initial payout.
"The market has spent years competing over who can charge less per payout. We are asking a more important question: why should businesses pay per payout at all?” said Kate Lifshits, CEO of NOWPayments. The company states the benefits of its email-based system include:
- Zero network and service fees for the sending business
- Near-instantaneous delivery
- Reduced instances of failed payouts and lower support costs
Targeting High-Volume Businesses
AdThe service is aimed at organizations that process a high volume of transactions, such as affiliate platforms, online marketplaces, gaming companies, and payroll providers. According to NOWPayments, these businesses often face significant hidden operational costs associated with traditional crypto payouts, including collecting and validating wallet addresses, managing failed transactions, and paying variable network fees.
To help companies quantify the potential benefits, NOWPayments has released a savings calculator on its website. The company claims that while savings will vary based on volume and the cryptocurrencies used, businesses could reduce annual costs by thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A Shift from Wallet-to-Wallet Transfers
NOWPayments frames the launch as an economic shift rather than a purely technical one, arguing it can turn payouts from a recurring expense into a tool for growth and engagement. The company's goal is to move beyond optimizing fee-based models and eliminate many of the underlying costs altogether.
"The future of crypto payouts is not wallet-to-wallet. It is person-to-person: identified by email, delivered instantly and free to move inside the ecosystem," Lifshits stated. This approach, the company believes, removes the legacy infrastructure that has made crypto payouts unnecessarily complex for businesses operating at scale.
