NOWPayments Launches Zero-Fee Crypto Payouts Using Email Addresses

Summary
Crypto payment gateway NOWPayments has introduced a new infrastructure that allows businesses to send mass crypto payouts via email, aiming to eliminate network and service fees.
Crypto payment gateway NOWPayments has launched a new infrastructure designed to eliminate network and service fees for businesses conducting mass crypto payouts. The system replaces traditional wallet-based transfers with instant, email-based payments, according to a company announcement on July 10.
A New Payout Model
The company's new solution allows businesses to use a recipient's email address as the payment destination, bypassing the need to collect and validate individual crypto wallet addresses. This approach is intended to reduce the operational complexity and costs associated with conventional blockchain transactions.
"The market has spent years competing over who can charge less per payout," stated NOWPayments CEO Kate Lifshits. "We are asking a more important question: why should businesses pay per payout at all?"
Targeting Operational Costs
NOWPayments argues that businesses using wallet-to-wallet transfers for mass payouts often incur significant hidden costs related to network fees, transaction failures, and customer support. The new system aims to mitigate these expenses for high-volume platforms like affiliate networks, marketplaces, gaming companies, and payroll providers.
AdAccording to the company, the primary benefits of the email-based infrastructure include:
- Zero network fees and zero service fees for the sending business.
- Under-one-second payment delivery.
- Automated recipient onboarding and fewer failed payouts.
- Lower administrative and support costs.
Market Impact
The firm suggests that the potential savings for businesses could be substantial, potentially reaching hundreds of thousands of dollars annually for organizations processing a high volume of transactions. To help businesses estimate these savings, NOWPayments has released an online cost calculator.
"The future of crypto payouts is not wallet-to-wallet. It is person-to-person: identified by email, delivered instantly and free to move inside the ecosystem," Lifshits said. She characterized more complex systems as "legacy infrastructure."
