Nordex Shares Rise, Extending Rally on Bank of America Upgrade

Shares in German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex SE (NDXG) rose 1.0% to €40.83 in Tuesday trading, extending a strong rally that began after a significant analyst upgrade.
Analyst Bullishness Drives Gains
The primary catalyst for the stock's momentum was a move by Bank of America on Monday to upgrade Nordex from Neutral to Buy. The bank also lifted its price target on the shares from €50 to €54, a level that BofA analyst Alexander Jones noted would be the stock's highest since 2002.
According to the bank, the optimistic outlook is based on several factors:
- Significant upside potential to current earnings expectations.
- The possibility for Nordex to raise its medium-term margin targets.
- A recently secured 325 MW order for 55 turbines in the U.S., which highlights the company's growing presence in North America.
Reinforcing this positive sentiment, analysts at Citi also initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a €50 price target. This adds to a growing consensus of optimism surrounding the company's prospects.
AdInsider Confidence and Sector Tailwinds
Further bolstering investor confidence was a recent share purchase by a key executive. Nordex CFO Ilya Hartmann acquired company stock in August at a price of approximately €41 per share, a move often interpreted by the market as a sign that management believes the shares are undervalued.
The stock's rise comes despite weakness in the broader German market, with both the DAX and the mid-cap MDAX index, of which Nordex is a member, trading lower. This outperformance underscores the stock-specific drivers behind the current rally.
Nordex is also benefiting from a strong industry backdrop. According to trade association WindEurope, a record 24 GW of new wind capacity is projected to be installed in Europe in 2026, with installations in the first half of the year already running approximately 30% ahead of the prior year.
