NeoVolta Nears Q3 Production Start at Georgia Plant, Eyes Conversion of $200M Agreement

Summary
NeoVolta is on track to begin production at its new Georgia battery facility in the third quarter, a move its CEO says is critical to converting a $200 million letter of intent with Infinite Grid Capital into firm purchase orders.
Energy storage firm NeoVolta is poised to launch production at its Georgia battery facility in the third quarter, a pivotal step that will enable the company to fulfill a major supply agreement, CEO Ardes Johnson told Investing.com. The launch is expected to trigger the conversion of a $200 million letter of intent (LOI) with energy project developer Infinite Grid Capital into binding purchase orders.
From Intent to Orders
NeoVolta and Infinite Grid Capital have identified specific project locations and technical requirements for the utility-scale battery energy storage products, according to Johnson. The LOI, first announced in late May, is now advancing as Infinite Grid works to secure project financing.
Johnson described this as a standard procedural step before formal purchase orders are issued. He anticipates the first project will secure its financing "in the coming months," which will activate initial orders and shipments from the new Pendergrass, Georgia, facility.
The Strategic Value of US Production
NeoVolta's new plant is designed to be compliant with Foreign Entity of Concern (FEOC) regulations, a critical designation for securing major U.S. projects. Johnson explained that this compliance is less about undercutting Chinese imports on price and more about market access.
AdWith tariffs on Chinese battery systems between 55% and 60%, FEOC compliance has become a strict requirement for developers seeking federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) eligibility and project financing. "The metric investors should focus on is our capture rate: how much of our Georgia output goes into ITC-qualified, FEOC-compliant projects where bankability, not price, is the deciding factor," Johnson said.
Key Milestones Ahead
Johnson outlined several key operational milestones for investors to watch over the next 12 months:
- Completing site acceptance testing by the end of August, ahead of the Q3 production start.
- Scaling manufacturing yield and throughput toward an initial 2 GWh annual run-rate, with capacity to expand to 8 GWh.
- Converting its sales pipeline, including the Infinite Grid LOI, into binding, tax-credit-eligible shipments.
Looking 12 to 18 months ahead, Johnson projects a "fundamentally transformed" company, expanding from its residential business to serve utility- and commercial-scale clients. "The scale of the company will make the NeoVolta of today unrecognizable," he stated, adding that the goal is to become a "dominant leader in domestic BESS manufacturing."
