Nebius Stock Rallies on Strategic AI Infrastructure Partnership with Palantir

Shares of Nebius Group (NBIS) climbed 4.4% in morning trading on Tuesday, defying a broader market downturn after the company announced a strategic partnership with data analytics firm Palantir Technologies.
The Partnership
Under the terms of the agreement, Nebius will become Palantir’s preferred sovereign AI infrastructure provider. The deal involves integrating Nebius's specialized compute and inference technology directly within Palantir’s enterprise security perimeter for its commercial customers.
This arrangement will allow eligible Palantir clients to run and fine-tune their own AI models using Nebius infrastructure while maintaining complete control over their compute resources, data, and proprietary models. Palantir co-founder and CEO Alex Karp stated that the partnership empowers customers to "run your own AI models under conditions you control."
The companies also committed to accelerating the deployment of new AI compute capacity through modular data centers, addressing a key bottleneck in the rapidly growing AI sector.
Market Reaction and Context
AdThe stock's advance stood in sharp contrast to the wider U.S. market, which fell in the first session after the Labor Day holiday. The S&P 500 was down 0.2% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.8% as investors assessed an August jobs report that was stronger than expected, renewing concerns about potential interest rate action from the Federal Reserve.
Against this backdrop, Nebius shares reached an intraday high of $242.82. The deal provides investors with a clear catalyst, combining a high-profile enterprise partnership with a direct commercial path for Nebius's GPU infrastructure.
Strategic Importance
For Nebius, the partnership provides an incremental revenue stream by tapping into Palantir's extensive base of enterprise and government clients. This new alliance complements Nebius's existing strategic relationship with NVIDIA.
The announcement follows a period of strong financial performance for the company. Nebius recently reported a 454% year-over-year revenue increase for the second quarter of 2026, highlighting significant underlying business momentum.
