The session saw broad-based gains on the Moscow Stock Exchange, where rising stocks outnumbered declining ones by a margin of 167 to 78, while 10 remained unchanged. In a sign of easing investor anxiety, the Russian Volatility Index (RVI), which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, fell 5.27% to 33.95.

Gains were concentrated in the Oil & Gas, Power, and Mining industries. Energy giants were among the day's top performers, leading the index higher.

Broader Market Context
The rally in Russian energy stocks occurred despite a downturn in global oil markets. According to Investing.com, Crude oil for October delivery fell 2.34% to $99.53 a barrel, while the international benchmark Brent contract for November lost 1.56% to trade at $103.19 a barrel.
Meanwhile, the Russian ruble strengthened against major currencies. The USD/RUB pair declined 0.11% to 84.42, and the EUR/RUB pair fell 0.27% to 96.72.
