Volatility and Commodity Markets
A key indicator of market sentiment, the Russian Volatility Index (RVI), fell 3.61% to 30.75. This marks a new three-month low for the index, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX options and suggests decreasing investor anxiety.
In commodities, energy prices were higher. Crude oil for November delivery rose 2.75% to $92.91 a barrel, while the December Brent contract gained 0.94% to $103.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, the USD/RUB and EUR/RUB currency pairs were reported as unchanged at 83.51 and 93.90, respectively.
