Liquid Mercury's MERC Token Meets EU MiCA Disclosure Rules, Paving Way for Trading

Summary
The company has registered its crypto-asset white paper with European authorities, a critical step required by the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation for the token to be listed on regulated EU trading venues.
Digital asset infrastructure provider Liquid Mercury has met a key disclosure requirement under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation for its native MERC token. This development clears a path for the token's admission to trading on regulated platforms across the 27-nation bloc.
Regulatory Milestone Under MiCA
According to a company announcement on July 1, the white paper for the MERC crypto-asset was submitted to the Central Bank of Ireland and subsequently included in the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) official MiCA white paper register.
The MiCA regulation is the EU's comprehensive legal framework governing crypto-assets. It mandates that issuers publish and register a detailed white paper before a token can be offered to the public or admitted to trading within the EU, enhancing transparency and investor protection.
Implications for EU Market Access
By successfully registering its white paper, MERC now satisfies the foundational disclosure rules that allow it to be considered for listing on regulated crypto exchanges and trading venues throughout the EU and the wider European Economic Area (EEA). This move is a prerequisite for expanding the token's availability and liquidity within one of the world's largest regulated markets.
Ad"With the white paper in the ESMA register, MERC has the regulatory grounding we need to keep pursuing listings, deeper liquidity, and broader access across the EU and beyond," said Tony Saliba, CEO and founder of Liquid Mercury, in the statement.
Company and Token Background
Chicago-based Liquid Mercury provides institutional-grade trading infrastructure, liquidity access, and workflow tools for professional crypto participants. The company is also expanding its services into the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs), such as sports investments.
The MERC token functions as a platform utility token within the Liquid Mercury ecosystem. The company noted that its role is expected to grow in line with the development of its RWA business.
