Liquid Mercury's MERC Token Meets EU MiCA Disclosure Rules, Paving Way for Trading

Summary
Liquid Mercury announced its MERC token has fulfilled key disclosure requirements under the EU's MiCA regulation after its white paper was added to the ESMA register. The move is a critical step for the token to be listed on regulated trading venues across the European Union.
Liquid Mercury announced on Wednesday that its native MERC token has met a key disclosure requirement under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, a critical step that enables its admission to trading on regulated venues across the bloc.
MiCA Compliance Achieved
According to a company statement released via Chainwire, the crypto-asset white paper for MERC was submitted to the Central Bank of Ireland and has been officially included in the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) MiCA white paper register. The MiCA framework mandates that a detailed white paper be published and registered before a crypto-asset can be legally offered to the public or admitted for trading within the EU and European Economic Area (EEA).
This registration confirms that MERC has fulfilled the necessary transparency and disclosure obligations set by the landmark European regulation. For investors and trading platforms, this provides a degree of regulatory certainty that was previously absent for many digital assets.
Path to European Market Access
AdThe company views this regulatory milestone as foundational to its expansion strategy in Europe. The successful registration clears a significant hurdle for listing the MERC token on compliant exchanges, potentially increasing its liquidity and accessibility to a wider range of institutional and retail investors.
"With the white paper in the ESMA register, MERC has the regulatory grounding we need to keep pursuing listings, deeper liquidity, and broader access across the EU and beyond," said Tony Saliba, CEO and founder of Liquid Mercury, in the announcement.
Liquid Mercury specified that MERC functions as a platform token, with its utility expected to grow as the company expands its infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), such as sports investments.
