Liquid Mercury's MERC Token Clears MiCA Disclosure for EU Trading Admission

Liquid Mercury announced it has completed a key regulatory step for its MERC token in the European Union, submitting its crypto-asset white paper to the ESMA register. This move satisfies disclosure requirements under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, paving the way for the token's admission to trading on regulated platforms across the bloc.
Key Regulatory Milestone
The Chicago-based company stated on July 1, 2026, that its white paper was submitted via the Central Bank of Ireland. Its subsequent inclusion in the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) official register confirms its compliance with MiCA's transparency and disclosure rules.
The MiCA framework, a comprehensive set of regulations for the digital asset space in the EU, mandates that crypto-asset issuers publish a detailed white paper before a token can be offered to the public or admitted for trading on a licensed venue.
Implications for MERC
By meeting these standards, the MERC token is now positioned for potential listings on regulated trading venues throughout the European Union and the European Economic Area. This regulatory clarity is a critical prerequisite for expanding the token's market access and liquidity within one of the world's largest economic zones.
Ad"With the white paper in the ESMA register, MERC has the regulatory grounding we need to keep pursuing listings, deeper liquidity, and broader access across the EU and beyond," said Tony Saliba, CEO and founder of Liquid Mercury, in the announcement.
Company Background
Liquid Mercury provides institutional-grade infrastructure for professional crypto trading, including over-the-counter (OTC) and tokenized real-world asset (RWA) platforms. The MERC token functions as a platform token within this ecosystem.
The company noted that as its business in tokenized RWAs, such as sports investments, continues to grow, the role and utility of the MERC token are also expected to expand.
