Liquid Mercury Registers MERC White Paper Under MiCA, Clearing Path for EU Trading

Liquid Mercury has successfully registered its MERC crypto-asset white paper with European authorities, a critical step that fulfills disclosure requirements under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. This move clears the path for the token's admission to trading on regulated platforms across the European Union.
Regulatory Milestone Achieved
The company announced on July 1 that its white paper was submitted to the Central Bank of Ireland and has been officially added to the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) MiCA white paper register. Under the comprehensive MiCA framework, a published and registered white paper is a prerequisite for most crypto-assets to be offered to the public or listed for trading within the EU and the broader European Economic Area (EEA).
By being listed on the ESMA register, the MERC token now meets the key transparency and disclosure standards mandated by the new regulations. This provides a formal basis for exchanges and other regulated venues in the bloc to list the asset.
Implications for European Expansion
This regulatory compliance is central to Liquid Mercury's strategy for expanding the token's reach and liquidity within the European market. The company can now actively pursue listings on regulated exchanges, which were previously inaccessible without MiCA approval.
Ad"With the white paper in the ESMA register, MERC has the regulatory grounding we need to keep pursuing listings, deeper liquidity, and broader access across the EU and beyond," said Tony Saliba, CEO and founder of Liquid Mercury, in a statement. He added that the disclosure formalizes the company's commitment to transparency.
Context on MiCA and Liquid Mercury
The MiCA regulation, which is being phased in across the EU, is designed to create a harmonized legal framework for crypto-assets, enhancing investor protection and market integrity. It establishes clear rules for crypto-asset issuers and service providers, bringing the sector under a more traditional financial regulatory umbrella.
Liquid Mercury provides institutional-grade infrastructure for professional crypto trading. The company's MERC token serves as a platform utility token, with its role expected to grow as the firm expands into tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), including sports investments.
