Liquid Mercury Completes MiCA Disclosure, Clearing Path for MERC Token in EU

Liquid Mercury announced on Wednesday it has completed a key regulatory disclosure for its MERC token under the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation. The move is a prerequisite for the token's admission to trading on regulated crypto-asset venues across the 27-nation bloc.
A Key Regulatory Milestone
According to a company statement, the crypto-asset white paper for MERC was submitted to the Central Bank of Ireland and has been officially added to the European Securities and Markets Authority's (ESMA) MiCA white paper register. This action satisfies the stringent disclosure requirements mandated by the MiCA framework.
Under MiCA, issuers of non-exempt crypto-assets must publish a detailed white paper and have it registered before their token can be offered to the public or admitted for trading within the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA). With this step complete, MERC is now eligible for listing on compliant European trading platforms.
AdStrategic Implications
The company views the completion of the MiCA disclosure as a foundational step for its European expansion. “With the white paper in the ESMA register, MERC has the regulatory grounding we need to keep pursuing listings, deeper liquidity, and broader access across the EU and beyond,” said Tony Saliba, CEO and founder of Liquid Mercury.
Liquid Mercury provides institutional-grade trading infrastructure and is expanding into tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), such as sports investments. The company noted that the MERC token serves a role as a platform token, and its utility is expected to grow alongside the RWA business. This regulatory clarity is crucial for increasing the token's adoption and integration within its ecosystem.
