Background

Scandinavian electronics manufacturer Kitron announced a significant increase in second-quarter revenue, which jumped 72% year-over-year to €295.70 million. The result surpassed the consensus analyst estimate of €274.50 million, according to the company's latest earnings report.

Quarterly Results Exceed Expectations

The company's financial performance showed broad strength, with operating profit reaching €28.30 million, also ahead of analyst expectations of €27.17 million. This yielded an operating margin of 9.60% for the quarter. Net income for the period was reported at €21.40 million.

Kitron ended the quarter with a robust order backlog of €794.30 million, signaling healthy demand for its services. The company noted that all of its market sectors experienced growth compared to the same period a year ago.

Defense Sector and Supply Chain Shifts Fuel Growth

The primary driver for the strong results was accelerating demand from the defense and aerospace sector. This trend reflects broader geopolitical factors influencing industrial procurement.

CEO Peter Nilsson stated that the company has benefited from customers reorganizing their supply chains. He noted a strategic shift where clients are prioritizing resilience and origin over simply seeking the lowest cost, a trend that favors Kitron's manufacturing footprint.

Full-Year Guidance Maintained

Looking ahead, Kitron maintained its full-year 2026 guidance. The company continues to forecast revenue in the range of €900 million to €1.05 billion and operating profit between €84 million and €108 million.

However, the company added that its performance is currently trending towards the top end of these guidance ranges, suggesting confidence in its business momentum for the remainder of the year.
