Background

Jupiter Fund Management reported a 67% surge in first-half underlying pretax profit, driven by its acquisition of CCLA and improved operational efficiency. The UK-based asset manager also raised its annual synergy target from the deal, signaling confidence in the ongoing integration.

First-Half Performance

The company announced strong growth across key financial metrics for the six-month period, according to its latest report. The results were bolstered by the CCLA acquisition and net inflows from its retail and wholesale channels.

  • Underlying Pretax Profit: Rose to £50.7 million, a 67% increase.
  • Statutory Pretax Profit: Increased 29% to £35.4 million.
  • Assets Under Management (AUM): Climbed 36% to £73.7 billion.
  • Net New Business: Recorded £0.7 billion in net inflows.

In light of the performance, Jupiter declared an interim dividend of 3.7 pence per share.

A primary driver of the positive results was the successful integration of CCLA. Jupiter has raised its minimum annual synergy target from the acquisition to at least £17 million, up from its previous goal.

The company stated it expects to realize approximately £8 million in cost synergies from the CCLA integration in 2026. Management attributed the improved profit to disciplined cost management and a faster-than-expected realization of these synergies.

Operational Efficiency

Jupiter also demonstrated improved operational efficiency, with its cost-to-income ratio falling to 77%. The firm is targeting a medium-term ratio of 70% as it continues to absorb CCLA's operations.

While the broader business attracted new capital, the company noted that CCLA experienced what it described as "expected outflows" following the completion of the acquisition.
