These appointments fill the vacancies created by the departure of the previous head of the region.

The leadership changes follow the transition of Steve Rinoie, who previously held both of the roles now assigned to Lavatelli and Kato. Rinoie is moving to a new position as global chair of investment banking.
This strategic reorganization elevates a key executive to a global position while installing new leadership to oversee the bank's diverse operations in the critical Japanese market.
