In the commodities market, energy prices saw significant gains. Crude oil futures for September delivery rose 2.19% to $84.29 a barrel, while the Brent oil contract for September climbed 2.10% to $91.09 a barrel. Gold futures also advanced, with the August contract increasing 1.64% to $4,081.62 a troy ounce.
Currency markets were relatively stable, with the EUR/USD pair holding steady. The US Dollar Index Futures, which measures the greenback against a basket of other major currencies, saw a modest increase of 0.17% to 100.95.
