Ionos Group to Cut 450 Jobs, Reaffirms 2026 EBITDA Guidance

German web hosting and cloud services provider Ionos Group SE announced plans to reduce its workforce by 450 positions in a strategic restructuring effort. Despite the move, the company maintained its full-year 2026 earnings guidance, signaling confidence in its financial outlook.
Restructuring Details
The workforce adjustment will decrease the company's total staff from 3,800 to 3,350 full-time employees. According to the company's statement, the reduction will be implemented through voluntary redundancy programs.
The initiative is designed to streamline operations and improve long-term efficiency. Ionos anticipates the workforce reduction will generate annual cost savings of up to €30 million beginning in 2027.
Financial Implications
AdIonos reaffirmed its full-year 2026 outlook for adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) of €530 million. The company's ability to maintain this forecast suggests the core business remains on track despite the restructuring costs.
Key financial points related to the plan include:
- A one-time restructuring expense of €35 million is expected to be recorded in the fourth quarter of 2026.
- The projected annual savings of up to €30 million from 2027 onward are expected to more than offset the initial cost over time, a move aimed at enhancing future profitability for investors.
