Background

Intapp Inc. (NASDAQ:INTA) shares gained 2.5% in premarket trading on Friday following the announcement of its new Celeste plug-in for ChatGPT Enterprise. The integration is designed to provide legal professionals with secure access to firm-specific data and workflows directly within the generative AI platform.

AI Integration for Law Firms

The new plug-in connects Intapp's proprietary Celeste AI system with OpenAI's enterprise-grade platform. According to the company, this allows lawyers to leverage their firm's internal knowledge base and operational systems while using ChatGPT Enterprise. The integration aims to streamline critical tasks for legal professionals.

Key functionalities highlighted by Intapp include:

  • Capturing billable work and checking it against outside counsel guidelines.
  • Identifying new business opportunities.
  • Accessing client information that has been cleared for conflicts.

Intapp emphasized that the system is built to operate within a law firm's existing compliance and confidentiality rules. The plug-in maintains security protocols such as ethical walls and need-to-know restrictions, which are based on individual user entitlements. This design addresses the stringent data security requirements of the legal industry.

Strategic Context

Intapp, which has focused on AI solutions for regulated professional services firms for two decades, said the plug-in allows its systems to run inside the AI models that lawyers are already adopting. "Being available in ChatGPT Enterprise means that firms now run inside the models lawyers are already using," said Thad Jampol, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Intapp.

Jason Boehmig, General Manager for the Legal Industry at OpenAI, stated that the collaboration aims to turn a firm's unique expertise into a practical AI tool. The Celeste plug-in is available starting Friday to eligible Intapp clients who subscribe to ChatGPT Enterprise.
