Inspiration Healthcare First-Half Revenue Falls to £22 Million; Core Segments Show Growth

Inspiration Healthcare Group reported first-half revenue of £22 million, a decline from the prior-year period that the company attributed to the absence of significant one-off export contracts. The UK-based medical technology firm noted, however, that its underlying business demonstrated robust growth across key segments.
Revenue Weighed by Tough Comparables
In a trading update released Tuesday, Inspiration Healthcare confirmed the top-line revenue figure for the first six months of its financial year. The year-over-year comparison was impacted by large, non-recurring export deals that boosted results in the previous period.
When excluding the effect of these one-off contracts, the company's core product lines showed strong commercial momentum, indicating healthy ongoing demand for its specialized neonatal intensive care equipment.
Core Segment Performance
The company highlighted positive performance across its main business divisions, underscoring the strength of its operational activities:
Ad- SLE Products: Revenue from its primary neonatal intensive care devices grew by 38% year-over-year after adjusting for the prior period's large export contracts.
- Airon Division: Sales in this segment increased by 40% to £1.6 million. This growth was driven by an initial order fulfilling a new three-year purchasing agreement with a large U.S. healthcare provider.
- MedTech Distribution: The company’s distribution business also saw revenues rise, posting a 7% year-over-year increase.
Outlook and Guidance
Looking forward, Inspiration Healthcare stated that it enters the second half of the year with a strong orderbook. Based on current trading conditions, management expects the company's full-year results to finish slightly ahead of company-compiled market expectations.
This forward guidance suggests confidence in the firm's growth trajectory for the remainder of the year, despite the headline revenue decline reported for the first half.
