Inficon Lifts 2026 Guidance on Record Sales Fueled by AI-Driven Chip Demand

Inficon Holding (SIX:IFCN) raised its full-year financial outlook on Tuesday after reporting record third-quarter sales, citing powerful demand for semiconductor manufacturing equipment as investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerates.
Upgraded Outlook and Record Results
The Swiss instrumentation manufacturer now projects full-year 2026 sales to be between $820 million and $850 million, a significant increase from its previous forecast of $750 million to $780 million. The company also lifted its expected operating income margin to a range of 21% to 22%, up from 19% to 20%.
The revised guidance follows a record-breaking third quarter, where the company's performance was driven by what it described as the ongoing semiconductor upcycle. Key Q3 figures include:
- Sales: A record $233.3 million, an increase of 42.4% year-over-year.
- Operating Income: More than doubled to $59.5 million from $22.9 million in the prior-year period.
- Earnings Per Share (EPS): Rose to $1.94 from $0.71 a year earlier.
Inficon also reported a net income of $47.4 million for the quarter, representing 20.3% of sales, and an operating cash flow of $77.6 million.
Semiconductor Division Drives Growth
AdThe company's Semiconductor and Vacuum Coating division was the primary growth engine, with sales surging 74.7% year-over-year to $135.4 million. This segment accounted for 58% of the group's total sales in the quarter.
Inficon attributed this performance to broad-based strength across semiconductor markets. The demand is particularly strong for equipment related to leading-edge logic, high-bandwidth memory, and data-center infrastructure, all critical components for the AI industry. The company noted that its book-to-bill ratio remained well above 1, indicating that incoming orders continue to outpace shipments and signaling sustained demand.
Regional Performance and Outlook
Geographically, sales in China saw the most significant growth, climbing 71.7% year-over-year to $73.2 million. The broader Asia-Pacific region also showed strong results, with sales increasing by 49.8%. The Americas and Europe posted solid growth of 34.3% and 10.8%, respectively.
In response to the robust demand, Inficon stated it is increasing its production capacity. However, the company cautioned that potential supply-chain disruptions, along with rising logistics and material costs, remain risks to its outlook.
