Sector Strength Drives Gains

On the National Stock Exchange (NSE), 1,412 stocks fell compared to 1,224 that advanced, suggesting the day's rally was not broad-based. A similar trend was observed on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), where decliners also outnumbered advancers.
