Greenwich LifeSciences Stock Rebounds on Detailed Phase III Trial Update

Shares of Greenwich LifeSciences (NASDAQ: GLSI) rose 5.4% in pre-market trading Tuesday after the company released a detailed clinical update on its Phase III FLAMINGO-01 trial. The announcement provided critical context for recent protocol modifications that had caused the stock to fall in the previous session.
Trial Safety and Design Reassurances
The update, issued before the market open, aimed to clarify the scientific and statistical rationale behind recent changes to the trial's design. A key point of reassurance for investors was the confirmation that the trial’s independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) met in May 2026 and recommended the study continue without any modifications, signaling confidence in the trial's safety profile.
Greenwich LifeSciences also explained its decision to adjust the design's hazard ratio and double the number of events required for the first interim analysis. According to the company, this change significantly increases the probability of success at that interim stage, assuming the treatment effect is consistent with earlier Phase IIb results which showed a reduction in breast cancer recurrences by up to 80%.
AdMarket Reaction and Broader Context
Tuesday's pre-market rally represents a partial recovery from Monday's selloff, suggesting investors are now digesting the clinical and statistical logic behind the trial's redesign. The move was supported by a constructive broader market, with the NASDAQ Composite gaining 0.9% and the S&P 500 up 0.4%.
Further supporting the trial's progress, the company noted recent regulatory clearance from the European Medicines Agency (EMA). This approval allows for the combination of patient populations across all European and U.S. sites, a development that has more than doubled the pivotal-arm enrollment rate.
