Broader Market Context
The outperformance of Greek energy stocks coincided with a rise in global oil prices. Crude oil for November delivery gained over 0.90% to hit $91.35 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose nearly 2% to trade at $101.17 a barrel.
Elsewhere, gold futures for December delivery traded down approximately 1%. In currency markets, the EUR/USD pair was relatively flat, while the U.S. Dollar Index Futures, which measures the greenback against a basket of trade-weighted peers, advanced 0.36%.
