Goldman Sachs Opens Bellevue Engineering Hub to Advance AI and Cloud Initiatives

Goldman Sachs announced on Tuesday the opening of a new office in Bellevue, Washington, establishing a dedicated engineering hub focused on artificial intelligence and cloud transformation. The new location will house more than 125 employees as the financial giant deepens its investment in next-generation technology.
Strategic Expansion
The move positions Goldman Sachs to tap into the rich technology talent pool of the Pacific Northwest, a region known for its leading tech companies and engineering schools. The office's primary mission is to accelerate the bank's initiatives in AI and cloud computing, areas seeing heavy investment across the corporate sector as firms seek to enhance productivity and business operations.
"The Pacific Northwest is home to many of the world’s top engineering schools and a deep pool of talent," Goldman CEO David Solomon said in a statement. "Hiring exceptional talent is central to how we adapt and grow."
AdTechnology at the Core
This expansion underscores the critical role of technology within the Wall Street firm. According to the announcement, Goldman Sachs employs more than 12,000 engineers globally, a figure that represents roughly one-quarter of its entire workforce.
These engineering teams are integral to developing and maintaining the proprietary technologies that underpin the bank's global business lines. The establishment of a specialized AI and cloud center in Bellevue signals a continued strategic pivot towards technology-driven finance and a commitment to competing for top engineering talent.
