Ferrexpo Shares Soar Over 36% on Production Restart in Ukraine

Shares of Ferrexpo (LON:FXPO) surged more than 36% in Monday trading after the Ukrainian iron ore producer announced it had restarted production following a successful capital raise.
Operational Restart and Funding
The company confirmed that production resumed over the weekend, according to a statement. This was made possible by a $100 million fundraising initiative announced on September 4, which provided the necessary capital to bring operations back online.
“We are pleased to restart production in Ukraine and I would like to thank our workforce, who have once again demonstrated their commitment and determination in being able to bring the operation back online over the weekend,” said Interim Executive Chair Lucio Genovese.
AdContext and Strategic Focus
Ferrexpo, a supplier of premium-grade iron ore pellets to the global steel industry for over 50 years, is resuming operations amidst significant geopolitical challenges. The company noted it is navigating ongoing attacks on ports and vessels in the region.
In response to these logistical disruptions, Ferrexpo stated it is now focusing its export activities on customers in Europe. The restart represents a critical step for the company as it adapts its strategy to the current operating environment.
