Dermapharm Shares Fall After German Regulator Announces Accounting Probe

Summary
The German pharmaceutical company's stock declined after the financial watchdog BaFin disclosed an investigation into potential irregularities in its 2025 financial statements, focusing on a €63.2 million receivable.
Shares of Dermapharm Holding SE fell on Friday after Germany's financial regulator, BaFin, publicly disclosed a formal investigation into the company's 2025 financial statements over potential accounting irregularities.
BaFin Cites 'Concrete Evidence'
Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin) announced it has "concrete evidence" that Dermapharm may have breached accounting regulations. The probe, which was formally launched on July 14, 2026, centers on the company's 2025 consolidated financial statements and its accompanying management report.
The regulator highlighted two specific areas of concern:
- The presentation of a receivable, including interest claims, totaling €63.2 million that may have been incorrectly reported.
- Transactions with a related party that BaFin believes were inadequately explained in the company's financial disclosures.
AdDermapharm did not immediately issue a public response to the probe. BaFin noted that because it made the investigation public, it is obligated to disclose the final outcome, regardless of whether any accounting errors are ultimately confirmed.
Market Reaction
The announcement triggered a sharp sell-off in the company's shares, which were down 2.5% to trade at €42.55 during the session. The stock had suffered a steeper decline in pre-market trading, touching a session low of €40.10.
The decline pushed Dermapharm's stock price closer to the bottom of its 52-week range of €31.70–€51.90. Broader market sentiment was also negative, with Germany's DAX index down 0.5%, but the regulatory scrutiny was the primary driver of Dermapharm's significant underperformance.
