Cryptocurrency derivatives platform Deribit and trading software provider SignalPlus have announced the launch of their fifth trading competition, titled 'The Island.' The event, which runs for 35 days, features a total prize pool of up to $600,000 USDC. Registration opened on June 29, and the competition is scheduled to run from July 6 to August 10.
Participation is open to eligible traders on the Deribit platform who execute trades using SignalPlus software. Competitor rankings will be determined by trading volume in eligible options and futures contracts. According to the organizers, options trading volume will be weighted at a 1.0 multiplier, while futures volume will be weighted at 0.5.
The competition is structured into several categories, including weekly leaderboards for both solo traders and teams, daily reward missions, and referral incentives. This edition introduces new mechanics such as a 'Mystery Box' deposit incentive, a weekly profit-and-loss (P&L) leaderboard, and a 'Flash Arena' designed to reward high-volume trading in short-dated options.
AdIn addition to the main USDC prize pool, a range of other rewards are available, including a Rolex watch, an Apple Vision Pro, NVIDIA stock, and a trip to Turkey.
