PANAMA CITY, Panama – Crypto derivatives platform Deribit, in partnership with trading solutions provider SignalPlus, has announced the launch of a new trading competition named "The Island." The competition is open to eligible retail traders who use the SignalPlus platform to trade on Deribit. Standings will be determined by trading volume, with options trades weighted more heavily than futures. The structure includes both solo and team-based leaderboards, daily and weekly reward rounds, and incentives for referrals and high-volume block trades.
This year's competition introduces several new features, including a "Mystery Box" deposit bonus, a weekly profit and loss (P&L) leaderboard, and a "Flash Arena" that provides reward multipliers for trading short-dated options. According to the organizers, these additions are designed to create a more dynamic and engaging experience for participants.
AdIn addition to the main USDC prize pool, rewards include a top prize referred to as a "Private Island jackpot," a Rolex watch, Apple Vision Pro, and NVIDIA stock, among other items. Luuk Strijers of Deribit called it the company's "most ambitious retail trading campaign yet," while SignalPlus CEO Chris Yu stated the event aims to create a "more immersive experience for sophisticated retail traders."
