Before the complete collapse, nearly two-thirds of the country was reportedly already without electricity due to rolling blackouts.
AdMonday's event marks the eighth nationwide blackout since October 2025 and the third this year. The recurring outages have caused significant hardship for residents, who face challenges working and coping with the Caribbean summer heat without electricity.
