Concentrix Shares Volatile After Q3 Profit Beat Is Muted by Revenue Miss

Summary
Concentrix Corp. reported third-quarter earnings that surpassed analyst expectations but fell short on revenue, driven by the accelerated departure of two major clients.
Concentrix Corp. (CNXC) reported a mixed third quarter, beating profit estimates while missing on revenue, leading to significant volatility in its share price. The company posted earnings per share of $2.92, which was $0.21 above consensus estimates, but its revenue of $2.45 billion fell $30 million short of forecasts.
Following the Sep. 29 announcement, the company's stock initially fell sharply in after-hours trading before recovering the next day, highlighting investor uncertainty over the firm's shrinking top line versus its improving profitability.
Revenue Headwinds and Profitability
Management attributed the revenue shortfall to the faster-than-anticipated wind-down of contracts with two specific hyperscaler clients, which are now expected to fully exit by the end of the fourth quarter. The company also cited offshoring as a nearly 3% headwind during the quarter.
Despite the revenue challenges, Concentrix demonstrated strong cash generation. Key financial highlights include:
Ad- A record third-quarter adjusted free cash flow of $218 million.
- A reduction in net debt by $211 million during the quarter.
- An increase in the quarterly dividend to $0.37 per share, the fifth consecutive year of increases.
AI Transformation and Outlook
The company emphasized its strategic pivot, reporting a key milestone: 50% of its revenue now originates from new or significantly transformed business lines developed over the last three years. According to the company, this segment is growing at a 30% year-over-year rate and carries higher margins.
However, CEO Chris Caldwell tempered expectations for a swift return to growth, stating that a recovery to mid-single-digit growth is "probably more a 2028 comment." The quarter also included a non-cash $1.05 billion goodwill impairment charge, which the company linked to its depressed stock price. These factors leave investors weighing the company's low valuation against an uncertain timeline for a top-line recovery.
