Computacenter Stock Rallies on Stifel Upgrade, Record AI-Driven Backlog

Shares of Computacenter (LSE:CCC) rose sharply on Monday after analysts at Stifel upgraded the technology infrastructure provider to 'Buy' from 'Hold,' citing a significantly improved outlook for earnings growth.
Stifel Lifts Forecasts
In a bullish note to clients, Stifel raised its price target on Computacenter stock to 5,235p from a previous 3,584p. The firm said its view on the company's earnings potential has "transformed materially" over the last six months.
Stifel now projects 26% earnings per share (EPS) growth for the 2026 fiscal year, a substantial increase from the 6% it had anticipated just six months prior. The broker also lifted its forward-looking profit estimates:
- FY26 Adjusted Profit Before Tax: Raised by 16% to £336.2 million.
- FY27 Adjusted Profit Before Tax: Raised by 13% to £350.3 million.
AI Demand Fuels Record Orders
AdA key driver of Stifel's optimistic outlook is Computacenter's order backlog, which has reached a new record. The backlog has reportedly climbed more than 200% year-over-year, reflecting a surge in demand from enterprise and hyperscaler clients for AI-related infrastructure.
This record backlog provides strong forward revenue visibility and signals sustained business momentum into the medium term, according to the analyst note.
Market Reaction
In response to the upgrade, Computacenter shares gained 2.6% to trade at 4,568p, approaching the stock's 52-week high of 4,702p. The rally occurred in a broadly supportive market session, with the FTSE 250 index, where Computacenter is listed, trading in positive territory.
