Among the session's worst performers were fuel distributor Organizacion Terpel SA (BVC:TERPEL), which fell 3.28%, and state-controlled oil company Ecopetrol SA (BVC:ECOPETROL), which declined 3.21%. Financial services firm Corporacion Financiera Colombiana SA (BVC:CORFICOLCF) also dropped 2.85%.

Currency and Commodity Markets

In foreign exchange markets, the Colombian peso was little changed against the U.S. dollar, with the USD/COP pair edging up 0.01% to 3,209.85, according to data from Investing.com. The U.S. Dollar Index Futures, a measure of the greenback's strength against a basket of major currencies, rose 0.10%.

Commodity markets, which are influential for Colombia's economy, showed mixed results. U.S. coffee futures for December delivery fell 1.68%, while U.S. cocoa futures gained 1.27%. Gold futures for December delivery saw a modest increase of 0.28%.
