On the downside, utility company Celsia SA (BVC:CELSIA) was the biggest laggard, with its shares falling 2.94%. It was followed by Corporacion Financiera Colombiana SA (BVC:CORFICOLCF), which declined 2.56%, and Grupo Cibest SA (BVC:CIBEST), which dropped 2.53%.

In foreign exchange markets, the Colombian peso edged slightly lower against the U.S. dollar, with the USD/COP pair rising 0.07% to 3,206.01. The move came as the U.S. Dollar Index Futures, a measure of the greenback's strength against a basket of currencies, ticked up 0.08%.
Commodity markets, a key driver for the Colombian economy, showed mixed results. U.S. coffee futures for September delivery jumped 2.95%, while U.S. cocoa futures for the same month fell 4.09%. Gold futures for August delivery posted a modest gain of 0.19%.
