Circle CFO Jeremy Fox-Geen to Step Down; Co-Founder Exits Board

Summary
Circle Internet Group, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, announced that Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Fox-Geen will step down. The leadership change also includes the departure of co-founder Sean Neville from the company's board.
Circle Internet Group, the company behind the major stablecoin USDC, announced on Friday that its Chief Financial Officer, Jeremy Fox-Geen, is planning to step down from his role after more than five years with the firm.
Details of the Transition
According to the announcement, Fox-Geen will remain in his position through the end of 2026 to ensure a smooth transition, unless a successor is appointed sooner. The New York-based company confirmed it is working with an executive search firm to find its next finance chief.
Fox-Geen joined Circle in May 2021 and was instrumental in its recent growth, including its $1.2 billion initial public offering last year. "Jeremy has played a key role in building Circle into the company it is today," said CEO Jeremy Allaire, crediting him with providing "strategic insight, financial leadership, and operating discipline."
In a statement, Fox-Geen said, "...Having achieved many milestones, it is now the right time for me to step down and take a break before my next chapter."
AdBroader Leadership Changes
In a related development, Circle also disclosed that co-founder Sean Neville is stepping down as a director, effective immediately, for personal reasons. The company stated in a regulatory filing that Neville’s departure is part of an "orderly process of board refreshment."
These leadership changes come as Circle continues to operate as a key player in the digital asset market. It is the issuer of USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin with a market capitalization of approximately $75 billion, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
