During his time at LendingTree, the announcement noted his role in improving profitability, optimizing cost structures, and executing financing and acquisition initiatives. "Trent brings deep marketplace experience and a strong combination of strategic perspective, financial discipline and operational execution," said Cars.com CEO Tobi Hartmann.

Hartmann also thanked the outgoing CFO for her service, crediting Jain with guiding the company's evolution after its spin-off. Her contributions included advancing financial infrastructure, implementing value-based pricing, and strengthening the company's balance sheet.
