Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit announced the launch of its Bybit Card in Peru, expanding its services in Latin America. The virtual card is designed to allow users to spend funds directly from their Bybit accounts for everyday transactions at merchants that accept major card payments.
The card supports dual-currency spending, enabling users to make local transactions in Peruvian Soles (PEN) and international purchases in U.S. Dollars (USD). According to the company, the virtual card has no issuance or annual fees, though foreign exchange conversion fees may apply to certain transactions. Balances are drawn directly from a user's fiat or crypto holdings within their Bybit account.
To mark the launch, Bybit is offering a promotional package for new cardholders in Peru. The offer includes a 10 USDT airdrop after an initial account top-up of at least 100 USDT equivalent. Additionally, users can receive a 10% cashback booster on certain lifestyle purchases during their first 30 days, capped at 110 USDT.
AdPatricio Mesri, Bybit's Country Manager for Spanish-speaking Latin America, commented on the launch, noting that Peru's young, mobile-first population has increasingly adopted digital payments. The company stated that the move is part of its broader strategy to expand access to financial tools in emerging markets across the region.
