BTSE Group Enters Indonesian Market With Regulated Crypto Exchange

Summary
BTSE Group has launched BTSE Indonesia, a regulated digital asset exchange, through a joint venture with PT Aset Kripto Internasional. The move marks a significant expansion into one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing cryptocurrency markets.
Blockchain technology firm BTSE Group announced its official entry into the Indonesian market with the launch of BTSE Indonesia, a regulated digital and crypto asset exchange. The new entity was established through a joint venture with a local partner, PT Aset Kripto Internasional, and involved the rebranding of the existing platform NVX, according to a company statement on July 3, 2026.
Strategic Expansion and Regulatory Approval
The joint venture positions BTSE to tap into Indonesia's rapidly expanding digital asset sector. Under the agreement, BTSE Group will provide the core trading infrastructure, technology, and liquidity for the platform. The local entity, BTSE Indonesia, will manage user acquisition, marketing, and strategic partnerships within the country.
Crucially, BTSE Indonesia has secured a license from the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK). The firm is authorized to operate as a regulated Digital Financial Assets and Crypto Assets Trading Operator (Pedagang Aset Keuangan Digital – PAKD), ensuring compliance with local anti-money laundering regulations and transparent business operations.
Market Impact and Services
This regulatory approval allows BTSE Indonesia to offer key services essential for local market penetration. The platform can now collaborate with Indonesian banks and payment gateways to provide a seamless user experience.
Key capabilities enabled by the license include:
Ad- Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) deposits and withdrawals.
- IDR-denominated trading pairs, providing a direct fiat on-ramp for local investors.
- A foundation for potentially introducing future products, such as futures trading, in line with Indonesian regulations.
"Indonesia has everything it takes to be Asia’s next major crypto hub; the population, the demand, and now the regulatory framework," said Jeff Mei, Chief Operating Officer of BTSE Group. He added that the joint venture provides the necessary combination of "global infrastructure and local expertise."
Local Expertise Meets Global Infrastructure
The parent company, BTSE Group, operates a global exchange that supports over 350 cryptocurrencies and reports more than $30 billion in monthly trading volume. BTSE Indonesia will leverage this global scale while focusing on local needs.
"With our deep local expertise and the support of a global exchange powerhouse, BTSE Indonesia is uniquely positioned to deliver a trading platform that is secure, competitive, and fully compliant with local regulations," stated Stephanie Kusnadi, Chief Strategy Officer of BTSE Indonesia.
