BTCC Exchange Reports Trading Volume Spike of Up to 55% Tied to World Cup Campaign

Cryptocurrency exchange BTCC announced a substantial increase in trading activity connected to its World Cup marketing campaign, with futures trading volume surging on days preceding matches for the Argentine national team. The company attributed the spike to a promotion rewarding traders ahead of the games.
Campaign Drives Volume Surge
According to a statement from BTCC, the exchange saw its daily futures trading volume jump by as much as 55% in connection with its "World Cup Showdown" campaign. The promotion offers traders a 1.25x volume boost during the 24-hour window before Argentina's matches kickoff.
The exchange provided specific figures to illustrate the campaign's impact:
- June 15: Daily futures trading volume reached approximately $2.84 billion, which the company said was about 15% above the average of surrounding days.
- June 21: Volume climbed to approximately $2.35 billion, a 55% increase over the previous day's activity.
AdMarketing and Sponsorship Context
The trading promotion is a key component of BTCC's official regional partnership with the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The strategy aims to leverage the global excitement around the World Cup to drive user engagement and platform activity. The campaign is scheduled to continue for Argentina's upcoming matches, including its Round of 32 game on July 3.
To further incentivize participation, the campaign features a combined prize pool of 690,000 USDT for leaderboards ranked by trading volume. BTCC also noted that a lucky draw includes high-value prizes such as a jersey signed by Lionel Messi. The campaign is set to run through July 21, 2026.
