Boxabl Stock Jumps 20% in Nasdaq Debut After SPAC Merger

Boxabl Inc. (NASDAQ: BXBL) shares surged 20% on Monday during their inaugural trading session on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The strong debut follows the completion of the modular housing company's business combination with the special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) FG Merger II Corp.
Merger Details and Public Listing
The company began trading under its new ticker symbol "BXBL" after receiving stockholder approval for the merger, according to a company announcement. This transaction officially transitions Boxabl from a privately held company to a publicly traded one. The SPAC, formerly traded under the ticker "FGMC," has now been delisted.
For investors, the completion of a SPAC merger provides a company with a faster route to the public markets compared to a traditional initial public offering (IPO). The positive market reception on the first day suggests investor optimism about the company's growth prospects.
Business Model and Product Offering
AdBoxabl manufactures factory-built housing units designed to offer an alternative to traditional construction, with a focus on affordability and speed. The company's flagship product is its 361-square-foot "Casita" studio apartment, which features a full kitchen, bathroom, and utilities.
According to the company, the units are engineered to be shipped efficiently and can be unfolded and set up on-site in under an hour. Boxabl also produces a smaller "Baby Box" and is reportedly developing stackable and connectable models for larger structures, such as multifamily housing and townhomes.
Financial Background
Prior to its public listing, Boxabl had already attracted significant private capital. The company stated it has raised over $230 million from more than 50,000 investors to date. This existing investor base and access to public capital markets will be critical as the company seeks to scale its manufacturing operations and meet demand.
