Amphenol Stock Gains on Record Q3 Earnings, Boosted Shareholder Returns

Amphenol (NYSE: APH) shares gained in mid-day trading after the electronic components manufacturer reported record third-quarter results that surpassed analyst expectations, driven by robust growth across its end markets. The company also announced a significant increase to its dividend and a new share repurchase program, further boosting investor sentiment.
Record Results Crush Estimates
For the third quarter of 2026, Amphenol posted net sales of $10.23 billion, a surge of 65% year-over-year and well ahead of the Wall Street consensus of approximately $9.47 billion. Adjusted diluted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $0.80, a 74% increase from the prior-year period and beating analyst estimates of about $0.72. Both figures exceeded the high end of the company's own guidance.
CEO R. Adam Norwitt attributed the performance to "strong organic growth in most of our end markets, including continued exceptional organic growth in the IT datacom market, as well as contributions from the Company’s acquisition program." The company also booked record orders, resulting in a strong book-to-bill ratio of 1.19:1, which indicates that demand is outpacing current sales and suggests a healthy revenue pipeline.
Shareholder Returns and Market Reaction
AdIn a move signaling confidence in its financial position, Amphenol's board approved a 20% increase in the quarterly dividend to $0.15 per share. The company also authorized a new three-year, $4 billion share repurchase program.
Following the report, Amphenol's stock rose 2.0% to $79.75 in mid-day trading, having reached an intraday peak of $83.73. The rally comes after the stock had pulled back in the weeks leading up to the announcement. Analyst firm Evercore ISI reiterated its Outperform rating and $100 price target on the stock, noting the revenue and EPS beat of approximately 8% and 10%, respectively.
Broader Sector Strength
The positive results were announced against a largely neutral market backdrop, with the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average posting modest gains. The news was reinforced by a strong report from peer TE Connectivity (NYSE: TEL), which also posted record quarterly sales. The solid performance from both companies highlights what appears to be sustained, AI-driven demand for advanced connectivity solutions across the technology equipment sector.
